Warwick School

Warwick School is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys aged 7-18, dating back to 914, making it the oldest boys’ school in the country.

Set in 50 acres, Warwick School is located adjacent to the River Avon, within Warwick town.

Academic excellence is important, but more so are the values that go with it. At Warwick School we aim to develop responsible, resilient and compassionate young men of character, equipped to succeed in a changing world. High academic expectations and achievements, together with outstanding pastoral care and exceptional drama, music and sports facilities and provision, make Warwick School a wonderful place to be educated.

One of the leading independent schools in the Midlands, Warwick School has a great extra-curricular programme with over 90 clubs and societies available to our students, with national success in drama, music and sport alongside successes in numerous academic fields.

Drama at Warwick School has exceptional range and is pursued with relish and conviction by large numbers of boys.

Each year we produce many different productions and theatrical events centred around the magnificent Bridge House Theatre. Boys have many opportunities to take part in weekly workshops, perform or play a role within production support (backstage, technical or design), many of these alongside our sister school King’s High in Warwick. There are slots in the programme each year for the boys to direct and produce their own plays, managing budget and design as an independent company.

Alongside masterclasses, residencies from companies such as Frantic Assembly, festival productions and individual casting opportunities, we aim to inspire the boys to enjoy as diverse and broad a range of experiences in drama as possible, and supplement their ‘in School’ productions. Our Youth Theatre company (Foundations) went on tour in Canada, performing ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ to audiences in schools in the Toronto region.

We are also delighted to be working with internationally renowned Dance company Motionhouse. Our own dance company Altiora performs regularly.
