The Bridge House Theatre are thrilled to announce the launch of the new participation initiative for adults aged 60+
Over 60s Creative
Bridge House Young Company, the theatre’s resident youth theatre programme for ages 7-18, is thriving but the team want to extend the artistic offering to provide opportunities for the creative adults in Warwick and the surrounding areas to get involved in classes, performances, and projects.
On Wednesday mornings this summer from 9.30am, the Bridge House Theatre stage will be open to adults from the local community. No experience necessary, just an enthusiasm for the performing arts and a desire to meet and collaborate with likeminded individuals.
This series could be the perfect opportunity to try your hand at something new or equally to refine pre-existing performance skills, supported by fantastic industry professionals.
Kath Waters, professional choreographer, dancer and teacher, based in Stratford upon Avon, will be running Over 60s Creative Dance. This is a contemporary-based dance class developing strength, mobility and technique and leading to creative movement based on different themes.
If you would like to come for a ‘Try It Session’, Kath will be running a free class on Saturday 6th July at 11.30am as part of Warwick Schools Foundation’s Creative Festival ‘Home’.
Pippa Church will be offering Over 60s Creative Drama. Pippa is a Theatre Practitioner, Director, Puppeteer and Puppet Maker based in Coventry. Creative Drama will be a playful series of workshops for adults designed to develop a range of drama skills including script work, devising, improvisation, puppetry and more.
All Over 60s Creative sessions will take place on the beautiful Bridge House Theatre stage and can be booked directly through the website.
The cost is £25 for 3 sessions of either dance or drama or choose our combined 3 weeks of dance and drama for a reduced rate of £45.
Wednesday 31st July, Wednesday 7th August and Wednesday 14th August 2024.
9.30-10.30am Over 60s Creative Dance.
10.30am-11am Refreshment break.
11am-12pm Over 60s Creative Drama.
