The Pied Piper - a new stage adaptation

Bridge House Theatre

In this new version written by Adrian Jarvis (who has previously written versions of Everyman and The Elephant Man for Warwick School) our story starts with the memories of the son of a wheelwright – Carl, who lives in Hamelin, a town enjoying bumper crops and wealth for its inhabitants. He longs to be a musician and has made a flute-like pipe much to the disappointment of his father. A strange visitor enters the town and warns the people of harsher times to come. Unseen, a large group of rats are struggling to eat and plan to enter Hamelin to steal the food. Soon the town is overcome by rats and the elders seek someone to rid them of this burden. With a powerful moral message and exciting movement and ensemble work this production showcases the skills of our year 7 and 8 pupils.
