Visiting Bridge House Theatre

Who we are

The Bridge House Theatre was opened by Dame Judi Dench in 2000, and since then it has grown into one of the area’s popular venues.

A mid-scale venue of 304 seats — it’s beautiful interior of wood and brick creates an attractive and intimate space for performances. Our audiences enjoy a wide-ranging repertoire of professional productions, alongside local community events and stunning performances from the students of Warwick Schools Foundation and our partner schools.

In recent years, this has included:

Nativity! The Musical by Debbie Isitt, Nicky Ager, and George Dyer

The first professional musical produced in-house at the Bridge House Theatre ran for 37 shows from the 8th-28th December 2023. Featuring 5 professional actors, 62 young people (representing 39 local schools), 19 community adults, and professional musicians, Nativity was enjoyed by over 8,000 people throughout the festive season.

‘There was a packed house on the Saturday evening at the delightfully cosy Bridge House Theatre, and the show started as it meant to go on – noisy, bombastic and fun.’

‘The kids in this – thoroughly excellent, by the way – felt like real kids, not the practiced performances of note-perfect stage school children. I’d rather my performances felt natural, and not, well – performative, and the kids here thoroughly impress.’

Elementary Whatson

‘The show’s production values across the board are of a high quality. The set is gorgeous, the music (under Felix Sürbe’s direction) is catchy and upbeat, and Alexander Kaniewski’s costume design is excellent - just wait for the chorus of shining stars in the big finale.’

Warwickshire What’s On

BHT 25 Anniversary Showcase

Thursday, 1 May marked a very special milestone in the life of the Bridge House Theatre – 25 years since the building opened its doors to the pupils of Warwick School and the wider community.

The BHT 25 Anniversary Showcase took to the stage on Saturday 10, May 2025. This one-off performance featured short extracts from plays, musical items, comedy sketches and special video messages, all championing a quarter of a century of artistic expression in Warwick.

Director of the Bridge House Theatre, Mike Perry, said

“For a school community to have a fully functioning theatre at all is a precious rarity and this space remains an inspirational beacon reminding us all of the importance of the arts in everyone’s lives. It was wonderful to share memories and celebrate all who have contributed to the hundreds of productions over those 25 years. The experience tonight has gone a long way to inspiring all the BHT staff whose passion for theatre and performance will continue to fuel this place in the future.”
