After the success of Sweeney Todd in 2024 we are delighted to be presenting another Sondheim classic musical Into the Woods in November 2026. As always, this production features some of our most outstanding young performers supported by a superb orchestra. Fully designed and realised, this Senior production showcases the very best in school theatre.
Into the Woods blends numerous classic fairy tale characters together, all of whom venture into the woods to chase their deepest desires. The darkly comic story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Each quest intertwines cleverly as they seek out their ‘wishes’ and discover that their ‘happy ever after’ may not be as it seems. Familiar anxieties about family, responsibility and adulthood are explored- making this a deeply relatable story for the modern world.
